$25.00

Working on an FN 509? Then this is likely the most valuable tool you could add to your workbench. The Apex FN Disassembly Fixture is designed to properly hold the FN 509, or FNS Compact, pistol frame to locate a pin punch for removal of the unlocking block pin, which is the most difficult part of th

SKU: APX-B-104-130-C Category:

If you’ve ever tried to fully disassemble an FN 509 or FNS Compact, you know that removing the unlocking block pin is the one step that can turn a simple job into a headache. That pin sits deep in the frame, and without something solid to support the pistol while you drive it out, you’re fighting the frame flexing, the pin walking, or worse — marring up the polymer.

This disassembly fixture is a simple, machined block that holds your FN frame steady and guides a punch square onto the unlocking block pin. It takes the guesswork and wobble out of that single operation. We sell a lot of these to guys who’ve already dinged up a frame trying to use a bench block or just winging it on a workbench. If you plan to swap triggers, fire control group parts, or do a deep clean on your 509 or FNS, this tool saves you time and frustration.

Does NOT fit full-size FNS-9 or FNS-40 frames.

Key Features

  • Precision-machined 6061 aluminum block with a recessed pocket that cradles the frame
  • Built-in punch guide aligns your drift punch directly with the unlocking block pin
  • Raises the frame off your work surface so the pin has room to exit without binding
  • 100% Made in USA — machined in Phoenix, AZ
  • Compact size, easy to toss in your range bag or tool drawer

Install Difficulty

Difficulty: 1 out of 5 — This is not a part you install on the gun. It’s a tool you use during disassembly. You’ll need a hammer (small gunsmith hammer or ball-peen), a correctly sized drift punch (1/16″ or 3/32″ usually works), and a solid work surface. No other tools required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this work on my FN 509 Compact?

Yes. The fixture is designed to fit 509 full-size, Compact, and Tactical models. It also fits the FNS Compact series. If you’re unsure, measure your frame width across the dust cover area — the pocket in the block is sized to snugly hold the 509/FNS Compact frame.

Can I use this on a kitchen table or countertop?

No. The instructions are very clear — this tool must be used on a solid, stable surface like a vise anvil, concrete floor, or a workbench positioned directly over a table leg. A kitchen table or countertop will flex and absorb the hammer blow, making the tool ineffective and risking frame damage.

What if my unlocking block pin is already damaged from previous attempts?

If the face of the pin is no longer flat (dented, peened, or mushroomed), this fixture will not fix that problem. You’ll need to dress the end of the pin flat with a file or stone before attempting to drive it out. We cannot guarantee the fixture will prevent frame damage if the pin is already deformed.

Shipping & Warranty

We ship this fixture same or next business day from Phoenix, AZ. It carries a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects. If the machining is off or the block cracks during normal use, we’ll replace it. Abuse from using it on an unstable surface is not covered — but we include clear warnings so you can avoid that.
