This is a moderate install. You’ll need a small punch set, a non-marring hammer, and a bit of patience. We strongly recommend watching our installation video before you start — it walks you through the overtravel stop adjustment step by step. If you’ve done a trigger job on a Ruger before, you’ll be fine. If not, plan for about 30–45 minutes.
Frequently asked questions
Will this work for self-defense or carry?
We don’t recommend it. The reduced pull weight and overtravel stop make this best suited for competition or range use. For defensive carry, we’d suggest sticking with a factory trigger.
Do I need to install the magazine safety delete?
No, it’s optional. If you want the gun to fire without the magazine inserted (common in competition), install it. If you leave it out, the pistol will function normally with the magazine in place. The kit still works fine either way.
Does this kit include a trigger shoe or just the internals?
This is a complete trigger kit — it includes the trigger shoe, sear, springs, overtravel stop, safety plate, and the magazine safety delete. You won’t need to buy anything else.
