This Basic Forward Set Trigger Kit is a drop-in replacement for the trigger and sear actuator in your polymer frame M&P M2.0. It’s designed to reduce the total travel distance of your trigger — including over-travel — and give you a shorter, more positive reset. If you’ve been wanting a trigger that breaks crisper and resets faster without changing the pull weight or smoothing out the pre-travel, this is the straightforward fix. It replaces the factory trigger with a solid-body aluminum unit (center-mounted pivoting safety) and swaps the factory sear lever for the Forward Set Sear Actuator. Both parts must be installed together; the pistol won’t function properly otherwise.

You’ll need a punch set, a small hammer, and maybe a slave pin for the trigger. There are plenty of install videos online showing the process step-by-step. If you’ve done a trigger swap on an M&P before, you’ll be fine. If not, take your time and watch the video a couple times first. Expect about 30-45 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this fit my M&P M2.0 compact 4-inch?

Yes, as long as it’s a polymer frame M2.0 (full size, compact, or subcompact). It does not fit the Shield series or original M&P 1.0.

Does this make the trigger pull lighter?

No. The trigger pull weight stays roughly the same as factory. This kit is about reducing travel and reset distance, not changing pull weight. If you want a lighter pull, you’ll need the full Forward Set Trigger Kit or the Special Sear Kit (coming soon).

Do I have to install both parts together?

Yes. The trigger and the Forward Set Sear Actuator are designed to work as a pair. Installing only one will cause function issues. Follow the instructions and install both.
