If you’ve been dealing with erratic ejection or the occasional stovepipe on your Glock® slim frame, a weak or worn extractor is often the culprit. This failure resistant extractor is built to solve exactly that—using a stronger claw and refined geometry to grab the casing rim more positively and throw it out in a predictable pattern. Instead of chasing ammo or spring swaps, this component gets to the root of the problem. It’s machined from stainless steel, so it holds up better over time than the factory MIM part, especially if you shoot frequently.
Compatibility
- Glock® 43
- Glock® 43X
- Glock® 48
- Glock® 42 (single-stack .380 – please confirm fit with your specific slide)
- Does NOT fit standard/double-stack Glock® frames (G17, G19, G26, etc.)
- Not recommended for use with aftermarket slides or barrels due to manufacturing tolerances
Key Features
- Stronger claw geometry – Reduces slippage on the case rim, especially with lighter or weaker ammo
- Stainless steel construction – More durable than the factory powder-metal part, resists peening and wear
- Improved ejection consistency – Helps brass land in the same general area shot to shot
- Drop-in replacement – Uses the same spring and channel liner as your factory extractor
Install Difficulty: 2 out of 5
Tools needed: Punch set, small hammer, and a plastic or brass drift. You’ll need to remove the backplate and slide cover plate, then drive out the extractor depressor plunger pin. Watch the spring orientation—it’s easy to flip it backward. If you’ve detail-stripped a Glock® slide before, this takes about 10 minutes. If you haven’t, we recommend our install video (linked on the product page) to avoid losing the spring into the next county.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will this fix my Glock® 43’s random ejection pattern?
It often helps. The factory extractor on slim frames can lose grip as it wears, leading to brass bouncing off the slide or landing on your head. This kit’s sharper claw and stronger material restore consistent grip on the rim. Results vary by gun, but most shooters see a noticeable improvement in ejection angle.
Do I need to replace the extractor spring or plunger at the same time?
It’s not required, but if your current spring is old or you’ve put thousands of rounds through it, swapping in a fresh factory spring is cheap insurance. The plunger itself rarely needs replacing unless it’s damaged.
Why is this not recommended with aftermarket slides or barrels?
Aftermarket components have looser tolerances in the breech face and extractor channel. This extractor is cut to tight factory specs, so it can bind or not seat fully in a non-Glock® slide. If you’re running a factory slide and barrel, you’re good to go.
