Will this fit my gun?

Right now, this kit is drop-in certified for aluminum frame M&P M2.0 pistols only. We’ve tested it in steel frame models and are waiting on final drop-test results before certifying those — until then, please do not install it in a steel frame M&P. We’ll update the listing as soon as that changes.

Install difficulty

Difficulty: 2 out of 5 — This is a direct drop-in kit, but you’ll need to detail strip the frame to swap the trigger and sear housing parts. If you’ve ever replaced an AR trigger or changed grips on a pistol, you can handle this. Tools needed: a punch set (1/16” and 3/32”), a small hammer or brass mallet, and a non-marring bench block. We recommend watching our install video before starting — it’ll save you a headache with the trigger return spring.

FAQ

Can I use this in a steel frame M&P M2.0?

Not yet. We’re waiting on drop-test results for steel frame models. If they pass, we’ll certify them and update the listing. For now, only install this kit in aluminum frame M2.0 pistols.

Does this work for carry or only competition?

You can set it up for either. Using the supplied springs with the factory sear spring gives you a duty/carry-safe pull weight (around 4.5–5 lbs). Swap in the lighter trigger return spring for a competition weight closer to 3.5 lbs. Either way, the factory safety values are maintained.

What’s different about the Type 3 trigger?

The Type 3 has chamfered front corners instead of the radiused front on the classic trigger. Performance is identical — same short reset, same crisp break — but the flat face and chamfered edges give it a slightly different feel under the finger if you’re used to the older shape.
