509 Slides
If you’re building or upgrading an FN 509, the slide is where the action happens—it’s the part you see cycling, the part that houses your optic, and the part that can make or break your shooting experience. Whether you’re a first-time aftermarket buyer looking to add a red dot or a seasoned shooter wanting a lighter, faster-cycling upper, the FN 509 slide category is where you’ll find the core component to transform your pistol. We see a lot of folks here who want to swap a factory slide for a pre-cut optic-ready version without sending their gun off to a machinist.
These aftermarket slides are precision-machined from billet steel or aluminum, often with aggressive serrations for better grip in wet or gloved conditions. Many come pre-milled for popular red dot footprints like RMR or Holosun K, so you can mount an optic with no adapter plate. We also carry stripped slides (no internals) for those who want to reuse their existing barrel and spring, and complete upper assemblies that include everything but the frame. If you’re chasing a lighter reciprocating mass for reduced muzzle flip, look for slides with internal cuts or lightening channels—they can noticeably change how the gun handles.
Installation is straightforward if you’re comfortable detail-stripping your pistol, but we always recommend watching our install video for your specific slide model. Most slides come with a limited lifetime warranty against defects in workmanship. If you’re not sure whether a slide will fit your specific barrel or recoil spring, check the compatibility notes—some slides are designed for Gen 5 or earlier internals. Compatibility
All slides listed here are specifically designed for the FN 509 series—including the standard 509, 509 Compact, 509 Tactical, and 509 Midsize—but not for the FN 509 LS Edge or MRD models without checking barrel lug dimensions. Most slides will accept your factory barrel and recoil spring, but some aftermarket barrels require a slightly different breech face cut. If you’re pairing a slide with a threaded barrel, verify that the slide’s front opening is large enough for the threads. For other FN pistol models, visit our FN handgun parts category.
Go ahead and browse the slides below—if you have questions about fitment or installation, we’re just a phone call away.
