FAQ
Will this slide fit my FN 509 Compact?
Yes, it fits any 509 frame. The 5″ slide will overhang the compact frame slightly, but it functions fine and gives you a longer sight radius. If you want a flush fit, stick with a full-size frame.
Do I need a ported barrel for this slide?
No, but the slide ports only work as intended with an Apex ported barrel. If you use a standard barrel, the slide ports are cosmetic only. The slide functions perfectly either way.
What internals do I need to buy?
You can reuse all parts from your factory 509 slide: firing pin, firing pin spring, extractor, extractor spring, spring cups, and recoil spring assembly. You will also need a 5″ barrel (factory or Apex). If you don’t have a donor slide, you can order a slide completion kit from the kit’s customer service, but it must be installed by them.
