This Action Enhancement Trigger & Duty/Carry Kit is designed to clean up that pull without turning your everyday carry gun into a race gun. Will This Fit My Gun?

This kit fits the original M&P Shield models (not the Shield Plus or 2.0 variations). Check your serial prefix or frame markings to confirm you have the first-generation Shield. It will not work on the Performance Center Shield or the Shield EZ.

Note: We’re transitioning the sears in this kit from our 2-dot to our #2 sear. Both work correctly in our Shield kits, so don’t be surprised if you get one or the other.

Install Difficulty: 3 out of 5

This is a drop-in kit, but it still requires some familiarity with disassembling the M&P fire control group. You’ll need a small punch set, a non-marring hammer, and a good set of tweezers. We recommend watching our install video (linked on the product page) before you start. Plan on about 30–45 minutes if you’re comfortable with basic gunsmithing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this kit work in my M&P Shield 2.0 or Shield Plus?

No. This kit is designed specifically for the original M&P Shield frame. The 2.0 and Shield Plus use different trigger geometries and safety setups. We do carry separate kits for those models—just check the product listing.

Do I need to modify the frame or use a Dremel?

No. This is a true drop-in kit. No filing, sanding, or fitting required. Just remove the old trigger, sear, and springs, and install the new parts. If you have to force anything, stop and double-check your installation.

Will this affect the gun’s reliability or safety for carry?

This kit maintains factory safety values, including the center-mounted pivoting safety. Many of our customers carry their Shield daily with this trigger installed. That said, always function-test your gun after any trigger work—check drop safety, trigger reset, and a full magazine of live fire before carrying.
