If you’ve ever pulled the extractor on your S&W M&P or M2.0 for a deep clean, you know that tiny factory pin can be a real headache. It bends easy, it gets lost in the carpet, or it just plain doesn’t want to go back in straight. This Heavy Duty Extractor Pin Set is a simple, no-nonsense replacement for that factory pin. We stock these so you can finish the job without a trip to the hardware store. S&W themselves recommend replacing this pin every time it’s removed — this set gives you a fresh, solid start every time you service your slide.

Install Difficulty: 1 out of 5
This is about as easy as it gets. You’ll need a small punch (1/16″ or 1.5mm) and a light hammer or nylon mallet. Drive out the old pin from the top of the slide, remove the extractor and spring, clean everything, then drive the new pin in from the top. Watch our install video linked on the product page — it’s about 90 seconds long and shows you exactly how to avoid bending the new pin.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I really need to replace the pin every time I remove the extractor?
Smith & Wesson says yes, and we’ve seen enough bent or mushroomed factory pins to agree. The pin is a wear item — it’s not meant to be reused. This set gives you two fresh ones so you’re never stuck with a loose or damaged pin mid-cleaning.
Will this pin work with aftermarket extractors?
Yes, as long as the extractor is designed for the standard M&P or M2.0 platform. This pin replaces the factory roll pin that holds the extractor in place. It works with stock extractors and most drop-in aftermarket units.
Can I reuse the pin if I remove the extractor again next week?
We don’t recommend it. The pin is a roll pin — it compresses when installed and can lose tension if removed and reinstalled. That’s why we sell them in pairs. Use one now, keep the other for next time.
Shipping & Warranty — We ship these same day if ordered by 2 PM Central. If you somehow manage to break one during install (we’ve never seen it happen, but hey), just send us a photo and we’ll send a replacement free of charge. No hassle, no forms — that’s the Competition Trigger Works promise.
