Optic Mounts
If you’re running a Smith & Wesson M&P pistol and want to mount a red dot without pulling your hair out, you’ve landed in the right spot. This category is packed with optic mounting plates and adapter systems designed specifically for M&P slides—covering everything from the full-size 2.0 to the Shield Plus and the compact models. Most folks shopping here are either first-time red dot buyers looking to upgrade their carry gun or seasoned shooters who’ve realized the factory plate setup isn’t cutting it. We keep it simple: you want a secure, zero-holding mount that fits without filing, and that’s exactly what these kits deliver.
Every M&P optic mount we stock is machined to match the factory slide cut pattern on your M&P. That means no drilling, no adapter shims, and no guesswork about screw lengths. Most plates come with the correct Torx screws already included, and many are anodized to resist corrosion from sweat or holster wear. For the 2.0 compact and full-size guns, you’ll find options that let you run popular footprints like Trijicon RMR, Holosun 407C/507C, and Shield RMSc without needing a separate gunsmith. We also carry a few low-profile mounts for the M&P Shield Plus that keep the optic low enough to co-witness with factory-height iron sights—handy if you don’t want to swap your front sight.
Installation is straightforward: remove the rear sight, drop the plate into the slide’s recoil lug recess, torque the screws to spec, and mount your optic. Most of these plates come with a video tutorial link or a printed instruction sheet. If you run into trouble, our shop can walk you through it over the phone—we’re a family-run gunsmith shop, not a faceless warehouse. Warranty coverage varies by brand, but we only carry mounts that offer at least a one-year defect guarantee. For first-time buyers, we recommend sticking with a steel or 7075 aluminum plate from a brand that includes a thread-locker pre-applied to the screws.
Compatibility
These mounts are cut for Smith & Wesson M&P pistols with the factory optic-ready slide—that includes the M&P 2.0, M&P 2.0 Compact, M&P 2.0 Subcompact, M&P Shield Plus, and the older M&P Pro Series. If you have a standard (non-optic) slide, you’ll need to have it milled first; these plates won’t fit. For the Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 platform, we recommend double-checking your slide generation (1.0 vs 2.0) because the recoil lug shape changed slightly. The optic mounts category covers plates for other brands too, but this page is dedicated to M&P-specific fitment.
Browse the selection below to find the right M&P optic mount for your slide cut, and grab the one that matches your red dot footprint. We ship same-day on orders placed before 2 PM central, and every mount includes our 30-day fitment guarantee—if it doesn’t work, send it back.
