This is a doable home-job if you’re comfortable working with a punch set, small hammer, and a slave pin (or a paperclip in a pinch). You’ll need to drift out the trigger pin and sear pin to swap the parts. Expect about 30–45 minutes your first time. Common questions from our customers

Does this kit change the trigger shoe?

No. The Duty/Carry Kit replaces only the sear and trigger return spring. Your factory trigger shoe stays in place. If you want a different shoe, you’d need a separate trigger replacement.

Is this kit safe for daily carry?

Yes. This kit is designed specifically for duty and carry use. It reduces weight but keeps the factory safety features intact. We recommend testing with your holster and carry ammo before relying on it for EDC.

Will I need to do any filing or sanding?

Nope. It’s a true drop-in. The sear and spring are machined to drop directly into your M&P Shield without any hand-fitting. Just clean and lubricate the parts during install.
