If you’ve got a new Glock Gen 6 with the factory optic-ready slide, you know the stock cut only works with certain footprints. This steel optic mount lets you run an Aimpoint ACRO, Steiner MPS, or other ACRO-pattern red dot on that Gen 6 slide without any slide milling or adapter plates. It solves the “will this fit my gun” headache by giving you a direct, rock-solid mounting solution that keeps your dot zeroed shot after shot.
Will This Fit My Glock?
- Glock Gen 6 full-size and compact models with factory “Optic Ready” slide cut
- ACRO / P-2 footprint optics (Aimpoint ACRO, Steiner MPS, Holosun SCRS, etc.)
- Does NOT fit Gen 5, Gen 4, or earlier slides – Gen 6 cut is specific
- Not compatible with RMR or DPP footprint optics
Key Features
- Machined from billet steel – not aluminum – to handle the 3,000g of acceleration a 9mm slide produces per shot
- Black PVD finish for corrosion resistance and long service life
- Includes two 4mm x 0.7 mounting screws with high-temp thread locker pre-applied
- Torque spec: 15 in-lb (we recommend using a quality torque driver)
- Built-in damper under the front of the mount reduces vibration and closes the light gap between the mount key and slide
- Manufactured in the free state of Arizona
Install Difficulty: 2 out of 5
Straightforward for anyone comfortable with a screwdriver and a torque wrench. You’ll need a small flathead or T10 Torx driver, a torque driver (inch-pounds), and some isopropyl alcohol to clean the slide surface before installation. Watch the install video on our product page for step-by-step guidance. We recommend cleaning the slide contact area thoroughly before mounting.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will this work with a Steiner MPS?
Yes, as long as you’re using the original factory clamp that came with your MPS. For the first-gen MPS optics, we recommend using the Apex Super Clamp to ensure proper fitment. The mount itself uses the same ACRO footprint, so any optic that fits that pattern will work.
Why steel instead of aluminum? I see other mounts made from aluminum.
We tested 6061 and 7075 aluminum mounts during development. After a few thousand rounds, the mounting rails tore off the base. A 9mm slide accelerates at roughly 3,000g per shot – that’s a lot of force for aluminum to handle over time. Steel is heavier, but it’s reliable, and reliability is what matters most with an optic mount.
Do I need to modify my slide to use this mount?
No. This mount is designed specifically for Glock Gen 6 factory optic-ready slides. No filing, drilling, or slide milling required. Just clean the slide, apply the screws with the pre-applied thread locker, torque to 15 in-lb, and mount your optic.
