Difficulty: 3 out of 5 – You’ll need a punch set, a small hammer, and a bench block. The sear is held in by a single pin, but the spring can be a little fiddly to seat. Watch our install video on the product page – it’ll walk you through it in about 15 minutes. If you’ve ever swapped a trigger or takedown lever on an M&P, you can handle this.

Frequently asked questions

Will this work with my Apex trigger shoe?

Yes, it’s designed to work with the factory trigger shoe, but it also pairs well with any aftermarket trigger that uses the factory sear housing. If you already have an Apex trigger, this kit gives you even more control over your pull weight.

Can I use a manual trigger pull gauge to measure the weight?

You can, but the numbers will be different from what we list. We measure with a Trigger Scan at a set point below the pivot pin. A handheld gauge (like a Lyman or Wheeler) will almost always read lighter. Use the kit to feel the difference, not to chase a specific number.

Will this affect my trigger’s safety?

No. The sear calibration kit replaces only the sear and spring – it does not alter the trigger safety, striker block, or overtravel stop. Your gun will still function with all factory safeties intact.
