Ultimate Striker Block

$40.00

We design our striker blocks for performance, and installing this small part can make for a significant improvement. The geometry and dimensions of our striker safety plunger differs from the factory’s so as to yield an exceptionally smooth uptake before the trigger bar engages the sear cam. That’s

SKU: APX-B-100-075 Category:

If you’ve installed an aftermarket trigger in your Smith & Wesson M&P or Shield and noticed the pull still feels a little gritty or heavy right before the break, the culprit is often the factory striker block. The Ultimate Striker Block is a drop-in replacement for the factory safety plunger that smooths out the trigger uptake by reducing the friction between the trigger bar and the plunger. It’s a small part that makes a big difference in how your trigger feels, especially if you’re chasing a clean, consistent pull for range work or competition. This component is the same one we include in nearly all our M&P and Shield trigger kits, and it works great as a standalone upgrade if you’ve already swapped your trigger or just want a smoother stock pull.

Compatibility

  • Smith & Wesson M&P 1.0 (full size, compact, and Shield) — all calibers
  • Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 (full size, compact, and Shield) — all calibers
  • Smith & Wesson M&P 9L / Performance Center models (check for standard frame)
  • Smith & Wesson Shield EZ — does NOT fit
  • Smith & Wesson Bodyguard — does NOT fit
  • Not compatible with M&P 2.0 models using the hinged trigger (older style)

Key Features

  • Smooths trigger uptake by reducing drag between the trigger bar and sear cam engagement
  • Minimizes trigger bar friction against the striker block for a more consistent pull
  • Provides a more tactile, detectable trigger reset — you’ll feel when it resets without having to guess
  • Direct drop-in replacement — no fitting, filing, or polishing required
  • Machined from hardened steel for long-term durability

Install Difficulty: 2 out of 5

This is a straightforward swap if you’re comfortable detail stripping your M&P or Shield slide. You’ll need a punch set, a small hammer or mallet, and a non-marring tool to depress the striker block during reinstallation. Plan on about 15–20 minutes if you’ve done it before, maybe 30 if it’s your first time. We have a full install video on our site showing the process step by step.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this fit my M&P 2.0 with the flat-faced trigger?

Yes, the Ultimate Striker Block is compatible with all M&P 2.0 models (excluding the hinged trigger versions). It works with both curved and flat-faced factory triggers as well as aftermarket trigger kits.

Do I need to change my trigger bar or sear with this part?

No. The striker block is designed as a standalone upgrade. It will improve the feel of your trigger even with a completely stock trigger assembly. That said, it pairs especially well with a performance trigger kit if you want the smoothest possible pull.

Will this affect the safety of my pistol?

No. The striker block still performs its intended safety function — it blocks the striker from moving forward until the trigger is pulled. The geometry change only affects how the trigger bar interacts with the plunger during the pull, not the block’s ability to prevent an accidental discharge.
